Traditional pbx hardware is relegated to providing doorbell-phone interfacing in my little shack in Auckland. ;-) When I travel, I plug my phone into the hotel broadband and I'm on the company pbx with my usual extension. Dial 232 and the phone rings in my kitchen at home. Dial 215 and I can speak to chief support wherever he is in the world. Cost per call: $0.00. Total cost of hardware was < $200 plus the cost of ip phones plus reincarnation of a Centrino pc I had thought was profoundly obsolete. Total cost of software was (of course) $0.00. We're finding the delight of discovery in all these things that drew me into ICT in the first place. What fun.
Sounds very cool. Have you thought about marketing it to other companies?
