Well, according to Sergey Re: Printer Status Thread #1118502 Message #1119276 the status is not determined by this method and according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/gdi/prntspol_82cy.asp.

It looks like http://vb.mvps.org/samples/project.asp?id=PrnInfo site was a bit changed. I didn't try to download the file and look into it myself, but may be you can do it and see, what changes have to be done in the code to make it work reliably?
