I've used both. Personaly, I prefer VFP, but that's most likely because of the types of apps I've been writing. VFP gives you more 'events' and 'methods' to start with, and it's eaiser to build or purchase a framework for VFP. I can develop apps quicker in VFP than Delphi. I did notice that Delphi has a native-code-compiler, so the EXE's most likely run faster. Using grids is a lot eaiser in Delphi, and the forms do popup quicker. One can always write an app in Delphi that uses the VFP database container, as matter of fact I almost did that, but decided to just do the whole thing in VFP. I also noticed that the VFP 'community' is a lot closer bunch of people than Delphi. There is no UT for Delphi, and the newsgroups have more questions posted that never get answered than ones that DO get answered. Plus, to top it all off, I worry about the lifespan of Borland. Any company who's stock has dropped like 600% in just a few years makes me worry. Delphi has it's pro's and con's like any other development language, I just think that VFP has more pro's for the app's I'm doing now. (personal feelings, of course).
