No, no, Cetin . . . all those comments after "As for Pascal's comment . . ." were intended for Pascal (who I copied on the reply), not you. Sorry, perhaps I didn't make that clear enough. But, just to answer the questions, no - learning/using another language is not necessarily leaving VFP and I'm glad when someone comes back to help, I just don't like it when people come back to denigrate the language (again, I'm not saying you did that). As I remember your posts, they do always seem positive and very helpful.

>I were surprised because though it had signals it didn't make sense to me MS to abandon VFP unless the sole reason was budget. Maybe just I didn't want to see happen. You know we all know that we will die one day, our relatives will die one day. No escape from that. However if someone calls me and tells 'x' died today when I don't expect him to die soon I'd be surprised. I know he would die one day but not today. IOW VFP was young for me to die yet.

>>In another thread I said "no one was surprised", but you just proved me wrong. How can anyone be surprised about this? The writing has been on the wall for awhile now. Disappointed, sad, angry, ok, but I'm having trouble figuring out why you were surprised.
>>
>>As for Pascal's comment . . . first, the obvious choice for him is Delphi since it's Pascal, a great language. Why not Pascal, Pascal? Second, I'm sorry you bailed on a great language, but it's continued to be good to many developers, including me. I know I won't find myself doing VFP in 10 years, but in 5? Probably. Not only VFP, but some VFP. What other language? Not a tortuous language like C#, but maybe Python, maybe OpenLaszlo, maybe RealBasic, maybe VB.NET, who knows. Finally, if you left VFP, why do you feel a need to come back and snipe?
