There were 9 in the original Fox group and there have never been fewer. (I have a copy of the original announcement if you'd like to see it.)

Yes it is an annual award, given (or renewed) to a different group each quarter, October, January, April, and July. Last year's April awardees are hanging sway waiting for renewal news right now.

There were ABSOLUTELY more than five MVP's when you were in the clan.

By the way, 1995 was my first year too.

There are, today, over 3,000 MVPs worldwide and spanning every technology. There have never been only 5. Ever.
