A vocal wizard? I think you and I have a disconnect here.
IMHO, Bobby Mcferrin, Ella Fitzgerald, Kurt Elling, Janis Siegel... those are vocal wizards. Lee is a guy who sticks his mouth on the mike and yells. No better or worse than a couple hundred others.
