You need to retain context, Kevin.

We're talking about a feature that already exists in VFP.

Some VFP people value the feature. You say not all- but I think you'll find that many/most VFP developers customarily use/used local datasets for various purposes without being concerned that the resulting cursor might overload memory and crash their or their customer's PC.

VFP developers are exhorted to move across to a new environment that does not have this feature, but which may get it soon.

This is completely different from normal incremental improvements that occur in IT.
