You missed my point. You stated that some might feel satisfaction in waiting until VFP came out. My point is that .NET is currently a much larger animal by comparison, and learning what exists at the moment can still be leveraged. LINQ will be a great addition - but there's so much more to .NET that exists right now that will be in use when VS'07 comes out.

People who have secure VFP jobs may feel very pleased waiting until Linq comes out before deciding what to do next. that doesn't mean they refuse to learn anything new at all- maybe you do need to show me these messages where people apparently refuse to learn anything new until it's perfect. I don't remember that at all.

You should also reflect that while waiting for Linq, people may look at Dabo, php, ASP.NET and a host of other options, while hoping that Linq is an absolute block-buster that makes the decision easy.

And after all that, some will still make the decision to stay with VFP!
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
