I don't think so. If you take the standpoint of someone who knows nothing about either product both VFP's and VB's feature lists look good. Now you have to pick one (and only one) to learn because unless you plan to hack your way through, books and courses cost sizable bucks. So, after looking into what each product says it's capable of, you have to make a choice and based on the way M$ pushes VB you would determine that it must be the best choice.
