Actually, what happens with the command line interface, if actually invoked from the command line, is that the log of files zipped (and/or warning messages) simply scrolls onto the screen. When invoked from VFP with a shell command, this log file is simply not visible -- there's not even anything to auto-respond to.

Zip Automation Manager, on the other hand, acts like WinZip in that when it's done there's the little pop-up about warnings and/or errors, asking if you want to review them.

Twould indeed be nice for unattended situations, I greatly agree.

In any case, I'll be using Zip Automation Manager to at least do the un-zipping.

Thanks,

Jim

>Thanks for the kind words about Zip Automation Manager. If WinZip's built-in command line interface provides a way to auto-respond to and suppress display of those messages, I'll add that functionality to Zip Automation Manager even though you have a Plan B. It would be a nice improvement for unattended operation in situations like yours where it's known that warnings can be ignored.

Before getting very far, I learned about the Zip Automation Manager. I'd prefer to use it, since its interface is so clean, but am happy enough to stay with the command-line support.

>>>The WinZip® Command Line Support Add-On provides a parameter to run in non-interactive batch mode and reply OK or Yes to all prompts, which sounds like it might work for what you need here. Zip Automation Manager on the other hand uses WinZip's built-in command line interface, and I'm not sure there is a parameter for this purpose in that interface. The command line interface is no longer documented online (or at least, not at the URL where it used to be) so I can't check right now, but I'll follow up on this when I'm back in the office next week.

I'd like to use Zip Automation Manager to zip this directory (so that it can be transferred over to laptop), but get a message which looks like this (for every file):
>>>>
>>>>Warning: The following file is open by another program. If that program
>>>>Warning: writes to the file while WinZip is zipping the file, the zipped
>>>>Warning: file may be corrupt: ..\..\..\Data\Kong\KOIN\deleted customer parts.dbf
