>>>I have a mousepad that I'm pretty sure is pre-MS. It says "FOXPRO: We'll Move You" on it. Anyone recognize that slogan?

>>"We'll move you" was the marketing slogan for FoxPro 2.6, which was completely focused on capturing dBase users. It's definitely post-MS.

>Ah, I remember that. It's ironic that with the Ashton-Tate lawsuits over FoxBase and the dBase language, they were able to come back later and put in more dBase compatibility.
The only reason I really remember it is because yag worked on a demo for MS (and I somehow got involved). We converted the dBase IV sample app to FPW.
There was ONE dBase command that never got implemented (anyone remember which one? <g>) and ONE control in the sample app that used it. The demo person (Janet Walker?) told us to leave the control in and she'd just avoid that field.
During the demo, with surgical precision, she clicked there and the app blew up. And just to pour salt in the wound, she restarted the app and did it *again*!
Some experiences stay with you. <g>
