As others noted, I think you need to compare overall performance...I have a small app that does instantiation of form, pages, various controls, some binding, some calculations, string manipulation, repeat table scanning, etc., inside a For loop after it loads. Running the whole shabang different numbers of loops (but same tests for each version), I get:

vfp6 beta is consistently about 12% faster than vfp5...
