I am glad the community was an inspiration to you and the others, but you are the guys (and gals) who did the hard sledding. You will always be able to look at those product boxes or CDs and say, "Yeah, I was part of that."

>Randy, in his response to me here, made a good point. Without the community, we would have had nothing to point to and convince the higher-ups that VFP 9 was a worthwhile endeavor.
>
>It was a symbiotic relationship between you and us...we worked hard on the product because you knew you'd appreciate it and you remonstrated for the product giving us something tangible to show a reason.
>
>You guys don't owe us, we owe YOU. Your passion for the product gave us the reasons we could take to the beancounters to continue our efforts. We owe you.
>
>>We are in agreement. (Isn't it nice not to be discussing politics? <g>).
>>
>>Personally I appreciate every one of you who worked all those long hours carrying VFP forward probably longer than most people expected. Calvin is another who comes to mind. Clap, clap, clap!
>>
>>
>>>Randy wasn't right at the heart, he WAS the heart.
>>>
>>>He conspired with the rest of us true believers on the team to shift resources around to get 9 out as feature-laden as it was. I was only the test lead with no pull but Randy knew the right people and played the right game to make VFP 9 a reality.
>>>
>>>Without Randy, no VFP 9.
>>>
>>>>What a great message! It carries a little more weight coming from someone who was right at the heart of the operation.
>>>>
>>>>You don't say a lot about what you are doing now. Are you another 40-something retired Micromillionaire? <g> Trying to figure out what comes next, apart from Vista?
>>>>
>>>>I have always thought it was impossibly cool that a Deadhead would lead a major project team at Microsoft. Keep on truckin'!
