If Vista was a car, almost ever dealership you went to there would only be that one car. It would not be at all clear to the average consumer what the limits on the car are, and only a experienced mechanic would be able to figure it out. The car would also have the ability to go 100 miles per gallon but the oil company convinced the car company to limit it to 50 miles per gallon to help them sell more gas. Even though there is not technical reason the car can not reach 100 miles per gallon on the cars existing wheels you would need to buy new wheels for your car that are 100 mpg compliant. Previsouly you could buy a lifetime pass on a toll road and use that for any of your cars. Now if buy that pass you will find the pass only works with the one car you were using the when you purchased your lifetime pass.

Too me it seemed better before, when the car company just build a better car without adding limits to protect the oil or toll road company.

If a manufacturer had an awesome car that I was interested in and it was made clear to me that I can only drive the car in certain places, then I would find that an acceptable setup. If the car manufacturer made it clear that that's what the deal is, then I have no problem with that. After all, why wouldn't they be able to define what and how they want to sell something? It is completely within their right to do so.
