Craig,

>Yes, that happens, but I think there is still a big difference between the VB and C# teams. The VB team seems to be more proactive in looking for things that we can use to be more productive rather than wait for developers to ask for it. David Stevenson posted about one such feature in the past two weeks the he likened to Text Merge. The VB team is implementing it but the C# team doesn't want to do it because they want to keep the language pure and not "pollute" it.

I disagree...for all the effort the VB team puts into productivity it amazes me that features like Refactoring, XML Comments, full integration (that actually works) with the Object Test Bench, nullable types, and so on are implemented first in C# but are not implemented in VB .NET for months or years afterwards. I have to work in both languages all the time and while there are a few things that I like about VB .NET that aren't in C#, they are minor...conversely, there are things that just don't work or are non-existent in VB .NET that can be real show stoppers.

Regarding the "text merge feature", during the C# session they showed us how we are getting the same feature without including it in the language...we were told that if we REALLY wanted it as part of the language they would probably do it.
