Too many other .NET sites have samples where they call SQL server directly from data grids.

One of my pet peeves, to be sure.

I also hang out on the MSDN forums (http://forums.microsoft.com/#1). A lot of MS people hang out there too, but I must admit that their answers are not always real-world-ready. I try to show them the error of their ways when I can. <g>
