>>>Anyone can be a badass on film. Real "badasses" usually die early because people who aren't "badasses" don't like being bullied and they will slip up behind a real "badass" and kill them. I always preferred to use my verbal judo skills as opposed to martial arts moves on people I arrested and I did that for most of my career. As I told my guys at roll call everynight, our number one job is to return home at the end of the shift. We have nothing to prove. We already know we are the badest gang in town!
>>>
>>>Having said that, I do enjoy the escapism. I'm watching Stephen Segal in "The Glimmer Man" right now. I like him because he gets it over with quickly. As they say in the street, "he don't play!"
>>
>>You are right - he gets right to the point. I think it's fun to watch the flicks where the good guy doesn't reason with the bad guy, or negotiates, or gives him. I like it when they just beat the snot out of them. If I am flipping through cable and find a rerun of Walker Texas Ranger, you bet I am going to stop on it at least for 5 minutes and hope for a roundhouse kick.

>>BTW, did you hear that at night the boogieman checks under his bed for John Harvey?

>Haha, don't be spreading rumors that I'm a "badass", you know what happens to them! Funny you should mention Walker Texas Ranger, my old roommate is a good friend of his and has been a guest actor on his show many times. Marshall Teague and I roomed together back in 1977-78 when we were both single patrolmen for the Shelby Co Sheriff's Office. Here's a link to his work on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0853549/ Marshall has been in a lot of movies, tv, etc. He is also an expert expert marksman and does a lot of the celebrity shooting competitions and hunting shows.

That's really cool.

Did you ever see the Conan O'Brien show where he would show clips of WTR and make fun of them? Hilarious.
Very fitting: http://xkcd.com/386/
