California passed proposition 215 that permits seriously ill Californians to use marijuana. The key phrase is seriously ill. But it maybe getting out of hand. Small Pot clubs are poping up like Starbucks and McDonalds becuase there is no one to over see the result of propsition 215. We're starting to see kids have free access to these clubs for no reason other then "I just don't feel good", no prescription needed. They're starting to come to school stoned and high. It's not just in the ultra liberal San Fran. It happening far down into San Diego.

I guess kids are banned from smoking, but pot is OK.

>>They forgot to add in the murders committed by drug dealers.

>I'm not sure that's true. Look at the statement "They used three factors to determine harm associated with any drug: physical harm to the user, potential for addiction, and the impact on society of drug use.". That last part may well include what you're talking about.

>On the other hand, murders and drug dealers really have more to do with the fact that the substance is not 'freely' available than the characteristics of the substance itself. When there was prohibition, there were hosts of murders by bootleggers. Now that prohibition is gone, not so many.

>Drugs like heroin are inherently dangerous without any help from regulation, but it's regulation that creates the atmosphere for murder and drug dealers.
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.
- Alexis de Tocqueville

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
