I don't Hilmar. You can go with Java and other technologies like I have heard that Phython is also a good choice. We decided to go and continue with MS technologies. And therefore .NET is the way to go but ofcourse with a long term strategy that's why we embraces C# so that in any case, we can go with it's C language cousins - java and the like.
