I don't mean to say you should worry. What I mean is that it is unlikely you will develop diabetes. My doctor told me that the most likely cause of onset was either a severe illness (like a really really bad viral infection, which I didn't have) or stress (which I had at the time in abundance).
As far as I know most Type 1 diabetics are diagnosed in their twenties or earlier. Most Type 2 in their late 40s. A healthy diet and moderate exercise is the best prevention of Type 2. Type 1 is one of those things that is either going to happen or not - I would have probably been diagnosed a couple of years had the preiod of stress not occured when it did.
