Read through the RB thread and weep. Looks like someone over there got an MBA from the E. Z. Pennies Business School of Higher Economics and had a Brilliant Idea: Sell the Professional Product at a reasonlable price, let the developer walk into a corner with his mission critical application that, in the end, doesn't work reliably, and then charge them good money to fix the bugs, at $500.00 a pop (which is about as much as the cost of the original purchase)! Oh, and while you are at it, build an ecosystem of 3rd party developers who can ALSO make money by selling plug-ins to plug the bugholes.
Why would ANYONE want to buy products from this kind of company is beyond me. Amazing.
