Sergey,

I looked at RealBasic and was somewhat impressed with it. The only real drawback I saw was with printing, specifically the lack of an integrated Report Writer. I compiled the demo database app and was able to run it flawlessly on a Mac, a Linux laptop , and a WinXP machine. That has to be considered somewhat unusual.

I did note that there were some very dissatisfied customers [at least one] who were very VOCAL in their feelings. I think I can remember having some people like that on this forum, and if I remember correctly, they were disinvited. As far as bug fixes etc, just compare RB's 90 day update cycle with Microsoft's record of leaving bugs VB for years.

We probably will not be moving in that direction, but I don't think this tread has been exactly fair. The developer program may be somewhat dicey, but it does offer the possibility of actually getting something fixed. I remember reporting a bug to Microsoft concerning printing to a USB port during my FoxDOS 2.5/2.6 days. They investigated and discovered that FoxDOS would print to a USB port across a network but not to a local machine. The Fix - Visual Foxpro. Point - getting a bug fix from a small company is more likely to occur in a timely fashion.
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
