You can create a splash screen within VFP itself, but of course this will not display until after VFP has loaded. What I've done in the past is create a splash screen in VB that uses the shell method to run my VFP app minimized. The small VB app loads quickly and is displayed while my VFP app is loading. The VFP app maximizes itself when it's ready to be shown. I used a timer to wait a predetermined amount of time, then exit (I'm sure there's a better way, but I'm not much of a VB programmer). Of course if you're creating a distribution, you'll need to make sure the VB runtimes are included.

>How does one create a nice looking splash screen to display during the span of time between the user clicking on the program's icon and the program actually being up and ready to run on the user's computer? Thanks in advance, CH.
