I've been reading about this stuff for the last 6 months or so. Rather depressing. I'm reading Chalmer Johnson's latest book now. He discusses bush/cheney quite a bit in this book. I'll have to add some references to your post tonite using his research notes.

I just finished a chapter on Iraq. Something that I don't recall hearing/reading about is the effects on Iraqi's of the trade embargos forced on them after the 1st gulf war.

According the best guess from Humanitarian/UN groups, approximately 350,000 Iraqi children died because of the embargo. Not having access to chlorinated water, lack of medical supplies, etc.

According to my reading the US and Great Britan put pressure on the UN not to release reports showing this.

Of course John H. had some lame excuses about why he considers himself a religious man, yet has no problem with supporting the murdering of children. Just so long as they don't die from abortion, I guess.
