Probably because the SysOps can and do cut off any discussions on a given thread, and it's a real pain in the neck when it happens. I think it was in the nature of a friendly "heads-up"....

If it's a pain for the users (who are presumably footing at least part of the bill?), why do they put up with it? Just trying to understand "The Rules."
