I have many friends who live in the U.S. but were born and raised in another country. They are united in their opinion that Americans are never satisfied. In their opinion, we live in one of the best countries in the world today. We have everything available to us, good medical care, freedom, and the list goes on. I have to keep reminding them that the reason this country is so good (overall other than our current serious issues) is BECAUSE Americans (as well as citizens of other western countries) are raised to expect more and not to 'settle.' We are not raised to think 'this is our lot in life and it cannot be changed' as a country of citizens (there are always those exceptions). We complain and do everything to change things so in the end there is constant change and improvement. Just because something is better than someplace else doesn't mean it can't get better. Right now we have a LOT of areas that need improvement, and I really think that overtime it will happen. Will it be enough? Probably not.

>>As I said before (also to Pablo and others in PM), this is such a waste of time and effort. What are you expecting to accomplish other than feeling good about seemingly "doing something"?

>I once heard a person on the radio complain that Ontario public school students were getting educated in being a good consumer, and nothing more. Looks like it applies more widely, and that it has been very effective.
