Perry,

I apologize for suggesting that you and others have ulterior motives in defending MS. My apology also to others whom I could have offended with the wrong comment.

>Once again, showing your total cluelessness, but not letting that stop you from discussing a subject.

>I take great pride in my work. I have no desire to work in a situation where I am there just to get a paycheck or to work in a situation where I know I am working in an environment where it's taking me twice as long as it should to get a particular task done.

>Do you think that a vertical market app can't exist if it's not written in VFP?
>
>I used to think it was easier to learn a new tool working for someone else. Since you could get them to pay for your learning. But I've discussed this with quite a few over the last couple yrs. And everyone I've talked to just found a project or 2 that a longtime client requested. So they could let the client know that in this particular case it would take longer to develop the app.

>Once again, thou, it's up to the developer to have the business sense to know that it's time to do some learning.

>>>Here we are again: the signs. I have paid attention to 'the signs'. But the fact is that all OFFICIAL statements were denials of those signs. And I paid more attention to the official statements. But indeed, it appears afterall that I may not have done some of my clients a good job by sticking to the official statements.
>>>
>>>You might call me naive, but it may also be the case that in fact I have been more trusting towards MS than all those MS defenders here, who preferred the signs rather than the official statements.

>>Peter,

>>Perry (and other MS defenders) will never understand what you and other VFP developers have to deal with. They are are highly paid consultants. They work on the hourly basis and love these long-term projects: converting from VFP or just simply writing .net apps. The more hours the better <g>. Roy Gutierrez described the situation very well. Upgrading a vertical market application from VFP will put a lot of people out of business.
