Reports using msWord
I am in the middle of porting an Access application over to VFP. The original uses msWord for most of its reports by using a template containing bookmarks and then navigating to the bookmark and TypeText() the desired data. I find this extremely clumsey mostly because I dislike Word and avoid it as a wordprocessor whenever I can. My user likes the technique because they sometimes "tweak" the report after it is generated. I've thought about converting the word processor to WordPerfect which is also used in the office but this brings some addtional complications.
My question is: Is the technique of placing the data into the wordprocessor using a template and bookmarks fairly common and is it the best way to approach this problem?
