I kinda surmised that from your question. But wasn't 100% positive. Yes it is. I believe it started out as the student newspaper at Univ. of Wisconsin. But has now become a much larger entity. They just announced some kind of video service.

Next time your in a bookstore look in the humor section for Onion compilation books. Quite humerous. Although some of thier articles can be biting. This weeks headline was a pic of bush on the podium with a secret service agent jumping in front of him as if to protect him from a bullet. But the headline is something to the effect "Hero Secret Service Agent Takes Tough Question for Bush". The story goes on to say how the agent could see the reporter was trying to corner the prez on some topic. And when the questions got too tough he felt the need to react.

I don't know what their distribution is like now. But you can grab the Onion for free at LA newstands now since about the beginning of the yr.
