I meant they had some sort of continuation from VB6 to VB.Net and yes with many more programmers

VFP is the only one I know(15 years now), I know it's sad thing. I know I will have to learned something else eventually but what? VB.Net, C# ...

>I also know several dotnet guys who do software for mom and pops successfully using dotnet. Thou many here seem to think that's impossible.

Myself, I never doubted it was impossible.

Where I last worked, we were 6 programmers working full time on a project(non-profit) with 150 small municipalities(300-3000+ residents,1-10 stations). It took us about 3.5 years, and that was a little before the .NET era started, to convert and that, while fixing the FoxPro DOS. It was major investment for them.

Now tell them they have to redo it for the next OS post-Vista(It should not take 5 years this time ;) ).

That's why I offered solutions to Microsoft. Just past the torch to those that want it. They will still sell Windows X/Office versions.

Those same municipalities may decide to go with Linux next time. That's a lost of secondary revenues that Microsoft doesn't seemed to calculate.
