Windows language bar worked for me. Wasn't too bad at recognizing text, it's just my habits that are incompatible with it. And the fact that it keeps recognizing text even when I speak Serbian, with hilarious result... so I haven't done anything serious with it.

The whole point is that you don't have to move a finger to make it work, and OTOH your users may be already using it without you knowing. It's like a barcode scanner - your app can work unaware of its existence.
