Tom,
The bibles mentioned by others are great, but we rewrote a VFP web app in PHP in 2 days by downloading samples, gleaning principles, checking online documentation when things didn't work and just getting on with it. Highly recommended- you can load PHP on your Windows workstation and play. While PHP's string manipulation features are as good as VFP's, it's great to alt-tab back and forward to VFP to convert VFP-style textmerge fields to PHP using strtran().
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
