I don't mind either. I chose LAMP as a general direction where I want my alternate path to go, so I set up my previous box as a FreeBSD machine with the AMP part on it. Additional reason behind it is that my pet project is a website which would run somewhere, and the host of my current website offers the MP part for a decently low monthly fee. And there's far less fear they'd have significant downtime, as they run on Linux+Apache ;).
