Looked at it, and even bought the book (REALbasic Cross Platform Application Development-good book). Problems: It does not have a report writer, so you would either have to role your own or buy one. Second, the code does not get saved into text files and the only way you can actually look at the code outside of the dev environment is to save it as XML. Help files are a little funky.
They come out with 4 updates a year and if you are in a hurry for a fix you can speed things up with some money. Some see this as a big downer but I don't. Classes look clean, there is a dedicated database, and there is a free addon for access to Postgres ( which is also FREE and competitive with Oracle, SqlServer, and MySQL for most things. It is also very fast.) It creates a true 1 file exe for Windows, and can also be compiled for some versions of Linux, and almost all versions of the Mac.
Very similiar to VB6 but more data centric.
My demo period expired so I can't get back into it. They do have a 90 day (?) money back guarantee but at the moment I don't want to lay out $500.00. There is a version available for $100.00 but it is severely limited.
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
