Besides some minor problems I like working with it. There's a plate on my laptop saying "Designed for Windows XP. Windows Vista Capable".

Before installing Vista I thought "OK I won't have aero and those other UI cool things but so what". I installed Vista with 512 meg ram. There was no WOW after installation. It was Slooooooow.

A couple of Guys from our user group gave a presentation and I knew that for that presentation my laptop would'nt be up to the task. So I installed an additional 1 gig of ram.

I'd say that to work efficiently with Visual Studio .net the amount of ram is pretty important. For VFP 512 meg was more than necessary.

Now I think that it's the closest it can come to being a WOW experience. My machine is fast. I've got Aero and the other cool UI thingies.

So I'd say that if you have below 1.5 gig ram on your machine and you want to work with Visual Studio .net don't touch Vista.

Oh and by the way I've got XP Pro installed on a virtual machine. Just in case I'm trapped I can get get back to that old reliable OS.

>>>Don't be fooled. There is MUCH more to Vista than a pretty face.
