I played with it and began writing a prototype, but the demo ran out before I could finish it. It runs about 2-3 times faster than VFP on stuff like:

for i=1 to 1000000
z=log(i)
next

but that is to be expected because it is a compiled exe. It requires type declaration, but its adherents say it is not strongly typed because it does some implicit casts. The round function always rounds to the nearest integer, but you can roll your own there. Some date functions would have to be rewritten - no gomonth etc.

There appears to be a fairly active market in addons and plug ins to make up for some deficiencies in the IDE. Most items in this market appear to be inexpensive. The ease of creating classes and subclasses rivals VFP. All in all I was fairly impressed with the language, and found it easy to work with. The users groups are active and very helpful.

It comes with 'plugins' or drivers for MySQL,ODBC,OpenBase,Oracle,Postgres,RealSQL,RealSQLServer,and 4th Dimension. A single user version of RealSql is built into the product.
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
