I use Word bookmarks to generate closing documents for a title underwriter. It's amazing what you can do with them that you could never pull off with a mail merge. My application builds a title insurance commitment out of pieces, by gluing multiple document templates together as needed. Once all necessary documents have been combined (using Word automation calls such as InsertDocumentbefore), I cruise the combined bookmarks collection updating the combined data. The technique works great and has served me well in many different applications.
