Can active directory corruption on SBS corrupt table?

I guess that's the problem. The new server was installed December 30 and the backups apparently haven't been working since then. It appears that no one verified that. In any case, the most recent backup of tables seems to be dated 12/30/2006.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about hardware to know what really failed. I do know that the "fix" was to re-create the file "ntds.dit" and that although they can run the VFP application, they can't access the data. The table that was emailed to me produces the error message I mentioned. Remote access to their server is down until a license issue can be cleared up. The license key was in Outlook but all Outlook data appears to have been lost when the Exchange Server was re-created. These poor folks seem to be in "deep yogurt" as they say. I'd like to give them one ray of hope but not sure where to find it.
