I understand people disagree with the cause. But I just don't understand why people were so offended by the protests.

What sort of extra benefits are you thinking of?

I do wonder how many illegal workers pay taxs or are using someone elses identity. I would think using someone elses identity would be a quick way to get caught?

I am not all for visas, at least not the H1-B visa. I do not buy that a company can not find a worker in the US. It is more likely they do not want to pay the market rate for that worker.

I have no problem with anyone wanting to come live in this country. The problem I have is that some get a free pass and get more benefits than I do. If, as you say, jobs 'off the record' or with 'illegal stolen identities' were not available to them, then a large percentage of it would end. I'm all for guest visas. Make sure everyone who comes here pays for what I pay for - especially TAXES under their REAL identity and NOT MINE.
