>IMHO, I think Microsoft could have handled the announcement much better. With no disrespect to Yag, I think this announcement was too important to be made by a mid-level manager. I would have hoped for Bill or Steve to make the announcement (or even a VP like Eric Rudder). To me, this would have showed a little more respect to folks in the Fox community and some goodwill going forward. I know that Yag has been a member of the Fox community which in itself is important for folks to hear his sincerity. Additionally and based on all the subsequent feedback I am seeing, maybe Microsoft should have held an online Live Chat like ones they have done in the past where members of the Fox community could ask questions and hear from folks at Microsoft (including some execs) on this matter. And I would keep the Live Chat open as long as it takes for folks in the community to speak their minds. For folks in the "know" such as MVPs, the terse announcement was certainly adequate, but there are many
>others that just were not as informed on the state of Visual FoxPro. Of course, this is just my opinion and it seems that at point maybe Microsoft wants to put the whole matter behind them.

This was Yag's reaction to my request: Re: Where is YAG? What are the reasons? Thread #1210085 Message #1210652

And this was my followup: Re: Where is YAG? What are the reasons? Thread #1210085 Message #1210700

I ended with: Your reaction is not diplomatic, it is not professional.

And I did not write that with pleasure. I just felt it had to be said. Too many others here are only praising him and others at MS. Don't get me wrong, I respect Yag. But THIS answer was, in my eyes, showing disrespect for me and all those who seek more official information. And it was not the rational reply one may expect from a manager.

Your proposed way of dealing with such announcements is far better.

Too bad you have left MS. In a way, your almost-burnout saved you, but you sacrificed us. ( Don't take that remark serious. You're a good man and you made the right decision. ;)
