Thanks. I will look into it. We just got permission today to create our own tags and also to install a web service on the data holding the service. Didn't see that coming so that will probably be the route we go...

>>Thanks Suhas. We did that and yes, it is similar. I had a difficult time explaining to the net programmers why I can open the tables across the T1 and browse them instantaneously and step through the records et al (like the old VFP app does) but the queries from net are so slow. Programmers that have never used VFP don't get the data engine and are amazed at VFP's ability to crunge data. Most just don't know I've found out and assume it is an old language not worth considering. I am surprised at the number of 3rd party apps out there using VFP tables that I seem to have to integrate with every year. The nice thing about VFP is we can check to ensure the query is optimized. Is there a similar function in net to sys(3054,11)? Probably not, since VFP controls the tags and it is internal to VFP. Would be nice though. We got it down to anywhere from 1 sec to 1 minute 30 seconds. We have to keep the time under 20 secs though so we are requesting from the holder of the data
>>permission to install a webservice on their server and to create our own tags for optimization of our queries. The data is in old FPW tables surprisingly.
