My .NET development is still a lot more book learning and experimentation than employable work experience. For what little it's worth I prefer VB.NET to C#.NET and ASP.NET to both.

I think it is important to for framework builders ( who can tend to space out on the wonders of design patterns ) to actually use the framwork to the limit in solving business problems.
