>In Holland the same. I was given the choice, as all others were too. I opted for FREE. But hey, I can opt out every day, because I'm paid by the hour, and I'm principally the one who decides which hours. The client isn't allowed to tell me which hours I have to work. That would incline that I'm an employee instead of an independent, hired developer. The contract speaks only about a number of hours a week, in principle.

>So, this day costs me a lot of money. But the sun is shining and money isn't currently my biggest concern. I have stopped quite some time ago feeling guilty for not working a billable hour. Although I still prefer to tank up on my way home, rather than on my way to the customer.
