There was quite a lot of uncertainty in the FP camp about MS's preference for VB at the time and I think Borland had hopes for FP users. Delphi was impressive +++ ... but it's data wasn't so great. The inbuilt tools were essentially single-table things more attuned to simple scenarios and demos than real life IMHO. The VFP Beta offered Remote Views with far more functionality. So I stuck with VFP. At least I'm consistent, right? ;-)
