I am answering you since both of us see exactly eye-to-eye about these issues.
What do you care? I am sure you are making a great living as a highly skilled VFP developer...I know i do. I earn way more than my fellow .net / magic / java / ... developers in Israel, and i enjoy my work way more than all of them together. So, why do you think i care if those people go and ride the hype? Hey, more incompetent people in .net et al means those will not stain our community, and also means more projects my way :-)

>The killer is about people who are barely able to understand the problems they are trying to solve and use 'new technology' as an excuse for their incompetence. VFP plays in a niche market and has some nice features that are lacking (or inferiour) from the alternative. VFP developers who use the tool to their advantage will always survive those with bare minimum development skills and ride the hype and argu that these kind of features are irrelevant just to justify their own choice.
