That is good news and more or less what I have suspected. Wish they would make it a public, explicit goal.

In the end, most of us are realists. We bitch about things that affect us, but if offered an attractive alternative we'd jump at it for sure. We don't want to give up powerful, easy, and "elegant" data handling.

At this stage I am looking at StrataFrame as the best alternative, but haven't commited.
