5. .NET, the platform allows to develop cross platform applications. You soon do not need Windows to run your .NET applications.
As a sidenote. Though there are some points made here, the statement is too harsh. As long as MS is releasing new office and windows versions and have excellent deals with hardware dealers to preinstall them and let them remain the defacto standard, they will survive.
