I mentioned this story only to show that the VB talent pool was just too widespread, there were too many there who were then called "point'n'click programmers". I'm not saying Fox didn't create its own pool of "naive programmers", those who were imitating what they saw or just used the wizards and thought they've become programmers - I've seen a few myself. But at least these were self-starters, not brought in en masse.

As for the levels of incompetence, there are always those whom "you can't give two painted geese to keep, they'd lose them too".
