>>>>I know far more about that topic than you realize. The aforementioned 'friend' and I had a heated debate early last year about Craig and Craig's book. I'm quite aware of his opinion on Craig's book, from Message #914374.

>>>Again, Walter's offering his narrow minded opinions of a topic based on second hand knowledge of the original. Did he read Craig's book or did he do like he does with .net and read some 2nd hand anti-MS idiot's article and conclude that .net was worthless in handling data? My bet is he didn't read the book.

>>JOHN, you're are choosing to ignore MICROSOFTS own words. The words of the VFP team and the words of many, many people up here. And before they did it, I already did in my OWN analysis of ADO.NET before .NET was released. Unlike you, I want to see for myself what a new technology means before I invest into it. Far more efficient....

>What truth? Your conjecture. You didn't answer the question. Did you read Craig's book before condemning it?

John, Again where did you learn to read?? What did I say ??? If you can read, which I doubt at the very least, I personally did not raise any opinion on his book. READ john, READ what is written. Is that so damn difficult?? How can you claim to be a software developper when you don't READ ??

As for the topic on crystal reports. I did not have to read the book. I've been through Crystal Reports since version 6.0 using about 4 integration methods (ActiveX, API, CRPE and RDC automation). I've written many messages about crystal in the past, but never had the intention to write a book about it. Craig did have that intention and I even helped him on one topic. I've got no problem in sharing my knowledge. I do however not have the intention to write any assays or books.
