Just to avoid committing too much with Microsoft sometimes forced metaphors, you may check Jakob's Nielsen site from time to time:
http://www.useit.com/

When thinking about interaction design, it is always good to see more than one source, and then do your own (even if tiny) exposure testing with your real users.
